If it’s true that talking about death and dying can make you more comfortable, let’s talk about it.

  1. Does death scare you? Can you say why?
  2. When you think about your death, what emotions andthoughts come up?
  3. What beliefs do you have about dying, including heaven,hell, purgatory. Do these beliefs help you or make you morefearful?
  4. What do you think it means to “live while dying?”
  5. What are you holding on to that might make letting go morechallenging?
  6. How do you see facing death as an “insightful journey?”
  7. What does it mean to “be present” to someone who is dying?
  8. Name three things you would like to do before you die. Whocould help you accomplish these tasks?
  9. Does thinking about death change how you think about thethings you “own?”
  10. Have you planned your funeral? If not, who can you ask tohelp?
